The Oklahoma Association for Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences (OATFCS) sponsors the FCS Day at the Capitol each year. This day gives FCCLA members the opportunity to meet with their legislators and advocate for FCS Education and FCCLA. Each year, Cherokee FCCLA officers are given the opportunity to attend this event. In 2018, Jade Jantzen, Madison Wheeler, and Bridget Wilhite competed in Spotlight on Projects with our FCCLA Chief Pantry and finished in 2nd Place. Below are pictures from the 2019 and 2018 FCS Days at the Capitol. The 2023 FCS Day at the Capitol is being held on February 15, 2023. Hope Jordan, Davin Budy, Abby Guffy, and Kynli Patterson will be representing Cherokee FCCLA at this event.
